Gyroville Sees Double Digit Growth at Mid-Year Mark
Popular Mediterranean Fast-Casual Franchise Increases System-Wide Sales 15-Plus Percent; Reaches New Customers with Addition of Delivery Service through UberEats
BOCA RATON, Fla. (July 6th, 2017) – Gyroville, a build-your-own Mediterranean fast-casual franchise, announced today that its system-wide sales increased more than 15 percent in the first half of the year. A key factor contributing to this growth was increased exposure and consumer demand through its new delivery service offering with UberEats. The company rolled out delivery service system-wide in March 2017, and currently has a 90-plus percent customer satisfaction rating on Uber.
“What’s great is that based off the location of most deliveries, we can tell that we’re reaching new customers that traditionally wouldn’t drive more than 10 or 15 miles for lunch or dinner. It’s no doubt that UberEats is a huge convenience for consumers and significantly increases the variety of food options available,” said Lambros Kokkinelis, founder and CEO of Gyroville. “Since launching delivery service, we’ve seen about 15 extra orders a day at each location. That’s around 40 new people a day in most stores.”
Gyroville jumped into the fast-casual scene in 2010 and currently has eight locations operating in Florida as well as a new restaurant that opened this past April in Quito, Ecuador. The new Quito location is the first Gyroville store for master franchisees Alberto Reyes, his wife Miryan Salas and sister-in-law Carmen Salas. Through their master franchise development agreement, they anticipate to open five units in Ecuador within the next 3-5 years.
The new restaurant was the first to debut the brand’s updated store design, which includes a cleaner, crisp look and feel that is synonymous with its updated logo and color scheme. This new prototype—which will debut domestically this summer with the opening of the new Topeka, Kansas location—is neutrally based with accents of green and includes an updated floor plan as well as lighting and furniture.
Gyroville seeks master franchise developers like Reyes and the Salas’ to continue developing the brand internationally as well as domestically in the United States. Domestically, the fast-growing franchise also seeks multi-unit operators and owner-operators to bring the brand to new markets, initially targeting the Southeastern part of the country. The company expects to open three locations in 2017, along with adding another 10 signed franchise agreements to continue steady growth throughout the United States.
Gyroville was created in 2010 to bring Mediterranean cuisine to the fast-casual market. Gyroville starts by using only the freshest ingredients and prepares them using recipes that combine old-school, Greek traditions with a modern day twist. The concept allows customers to follow their choice of protein from the grill or vertical spit through an assembly line process, where they choose from fresh ingredients and homemade sauces. The first Gyroville opened in January 2010 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Today, there are eight locations in Florida and one in Ecuador. For more information, visit http://gyroville.com/.
